Micro$oft aligns itself with Disney for world dominance - MickeyMouseSoft is finally here (almost)

Filed under: Operating Systems, General Procrastination — Othello @ 6:00 pm

In a suprise move by MickeymouseSoft, the ill-fated and very delayed new version of M$Windoze gets a marketing boost - in the form of a quick product namechange to … Windows Vista.
Obviously closely modelled on the Walt Disney company - aka Buena Vista (Good to See).

Grauniad Blog Perl broken

Filed under: Web Tools, General Procrastination — Othello @ 11:43 pm

Now news of a blog with problems wouldn’t normaly be that interesting, but today the Guardian Unlimited Blog Picture of the day has gone a bit wonky, complete with a very good reason why all programming code should be checked for “language suitability” after the techs have finished with it (more…)

Bombs explode in London

Filed under: General Procrastination — Othello @ 7:00 pm

Earlier this morning a number of devices exploded, in what has been described as a “co-ordinated terrorist attack”. Targets included buses and underground trains, with at least 4 devices confirmed as detonating, with another 3 unconfirmed.

Indescriminate slaughter of innocents to attempt to de-rail the G8 meetings (on 3rd world poverty) is unlikely to garner support for whatever extremist nut-jobs actually did it. Bleeding-heart liberal wankers are already claiming we brought it on ourselves for going to Iraq - shame more of them weren’t on the bus really. (more…)

GreenZap - the next paypal - or is it ?

GreenZap is being very heavily marketed as a PayPal killer at the moment.
The premise is sound - an online payments service, allowing C2C, B2C, C2B, B2B transfers of real and “online only” webcash.

My understanding is the correct banking and e-money licences etc have all been obtained, however a few question-marks still hang over it’s viablility and the MLM type sign-up payments are causing most of them …

Yes, they really do seem to be offering the Holy GrailFREE MONEY !
